Tom Dixon

Tom Dixon is a self-taught, British designer born in Tunisia who began his career working in welded salvage furniture. But how did he go from this to designing lighting, furniture, accessories and then interiors of hotels and restaurants all while winning many awards?

At the age of 43, he founded the Tom Dixon brand, but had to sell a 51% stake in the company just 2 years later in order to finance it. Dixon’s brand is now majority-owned by a British private equity company that has also invested in the Victoria Beckham fashion brand.
